Description
The most common of the pelhams used in Polo. The centre piece commonly known as a spade with a cricket in America, rotates and pushes into the roof of the mouth asking for an instant yeild to the pressure from the horse. It is crucial that the curb chain is set well or the spade can badly bruise the roof of the mouth. The copper roller or cricket is supposed to move on the tongue to stop the horse leaning into the bit.
